Our Story
Magic Bird Buns didn’t start in a test kitchen or a boardroom. It started at Camp LUCK Kids Camp, a place built on love, resilience and joy for children living with congenital heart disease.
One evening at camp, “Magic” Mike and Jay “Bird” were discussing what was left in the kitchen... some hot dogs, no buns... but a couple pieces of homemade Texas toast that Chef G had baked from scratch earlier that week.
So they improvised. A sliced and griddled hot dog went onto the griddled garlic toast... and everything changed! Magic and Bird took one bite, looked at each other, and instantly said the same thing: “Why doesn’t this exist?”
We brought the idea to Chef G, who began the real work—months of tireless experimentation to create a bun that wasn’t just a substitute, but an upgrade.
The result is Magic Bird Buns: A thoughtfully crafted, elevated bun designed to transform anything served in a hot-dog-style format— whether it’s a gourmet hot dog, lobster roll, chicken salad or something entirely unexpected.
Magic Bird Buns is more than bread. It's the belief that even the simplest idea can become something special when made with heart.
This is why we will be giving back to the place where it all began. Ten percent of net profits are donated back to Camp LUCK, helping create more magical moments for heart kids who deserve them most.
